Paintucation was
launched when I decided to search the web for instructional video tapes on
automotive related subjects. I had entertained the idea for some time, but never
acted on it, assuming there was a wealth of information already out there
waiting for me to find. I couldn't find ANYTHING! There are books that have been
written in the 70's and some very product specific tapes that have very little
to do with technique, as well as some hastily assembled magazine articles. I was
amazed to find only one or two isolated (and outdated) videos that I didn't
consider to be what I was looking for. As a professional painter I realize how
fast things have changed in this industry over the past few years and the need
for something new became clear to me. "Paint your own car" is the
first in a series of tapes I plan to produce, and can be used as a foundation
for all future tapes. Some of the topics I want to feature are painting flames
and graphics, striping and detailing, and extensive color sanding and buffing
for a show finish. What I want to emphasize in all the tapes is that a little
patience and common sense will go a long way on your project, and planning and
research can reward you in a big way! If you have any suggestions as to what you
